Metroline route 6: Aldwych - Willesden, Bus Garage

Metroline retained route 6 from Willesden (AC) on 9 December 2017. The new buses introduced are the controversially delayed 67-reg VWH2364-2432, shared with routes 52 (not by contract) and 98 - give or take a few extra buses and Perivale West (PA) diverts.

Over 100 VWHs were ordered for Willesden Bus Garage alone over the course of last year, leaving them with enough VWHs to completely standardise their fleet. I am yet to cover all the routes at the garage since, so for now, here's VWH2428 on route 6 at Green Park.

More on the location. The 6 no longer serves Oxford Street and Regent Street: it now runs via Hyde Park Corner to provide a direct link between Park Lane and Piccadilly. The change, introduced last summer, has turned out to be effective and enhances the route's nimble status relative to its traffic-prone counterpart route 98.

Metroline route 182: Harrow Weald, Oxhey Lane - Brent Cross, Shopping Centre
Bypassed Wembley Triangle (SM), towards Wembley Stadium Station (SD)

Metroline have retained route 182 from Harrow Weald (HD) with new B5LH-Gemini 3 buses, the new contract starting from 3 September 2016.

The buses have been phased into service as early as 8 August. Apparently, they come with new modifications but I have not noticed anything different compared to other examples. Nevertheless, a much needed service change to modernise a popular and useful route with more inviting vehicles than their predecessor.
