Metroline route 46: St. Bartholomew's Hospital - Lancaster Gate Station
Approaching Clifton Road / Maida Vale (G)
Metroline retained route 46 from Holloway (HT) on 23 June 2018. New electric buses were postponed until 20 October, when Metroline finally phased their new BEL-class into service.
I like the new look of route 46: the most noticeable feature of this particular batch is the shortened eastbound destination blind to "Bart's Hospital", as I initially encountered on odd-working buses on the 56. The pictured curtailment shows off, rather annoyingly and pointlessly in my opinion, the lonely capitalisation of "STATION" for Warwick Avenue - I'd rather a roundel or nothing.
Also notice how Metroline ordered BELs for a previously standard length DE service, hence there are a few corners that fully contest the length of these 10.9m electrics to the point that kerbs are frequently mounted even when taking a wide entry.
