Suzii got married this weekend...always a strange time for me, these clear signs that time moves ever forward, I always think of my models, my friends as stuck in amber, that they'll always remain the same.
And then it's a marriage, or a new job, or a new city, or a baby, or some other such life event that reminds me we're all getting older, we're all making iterative changes to our lives.
Maybe it's that I usually write here on Flickr in the pre-dawn, the quiet time before the city's truly awake, just me and the occasional sounds outside, my girlfriend still asleep, maybe it's this little morning cocoon that gets me in a more heady mood.
I'll say this: while a decade ago it was hard to imagine what the future would look like, I've always been pretty certain Suzii would end up with her now-husband. Theirs is a very solid, consistent love, a rare thing. When we find someone like that, find a love like that, getting married is the only sensible thing to do, find that anchor, that reliability in this tumultuous world.
