ALL MY PHOTOS ARE NOW ON SALE!
I'll be sitting on set, minding my own business, when all of a sudden I'll see the sun doing some magnificent bit of...shining, it'll be in an excellent spot in the sky, maybe a few clouds up there, and I'll see someone taking a picture, maybe someone from the camera department, and I'll think to myself, "these folks, I could smoke them all, line us up, gimme a model, let me at that sunlight."
Even worse if someone's taking a picture of someone else on set. "I could smoke this fool so goddamn fast, go over there and show 'em how it's done."
If you can believe it, I was arrogant Before I became a photographer. Thousands of followers, likes, comments later...not healthy! Not healthy at all!
So usually, after I have a thought like that, thinking I could take the photo better, I'll have another thought: "I'm a worker among workers." One among many. It's not about who's better, or who's best, or who could do it "right". It's people enjoying themselves, expressing themselves. Nobody says, "I sure could ride that rollercoaster better than that other guy", because that's insane.
But that's art, that's what I gotta keep reminding myself, keep that little arrogance demon in its box. It's not about who's doing it better, it's about who's having fun. If you're having fun, you're doing it right.
