I've been procrastinating on putting this one back together for a while. 10 months more exactly.
It was taken on 5/13/2021 just after 3 AM (MDT) on the Skyline Arch trail in Arches National Park.
Tazmaphorical because Jupiter, the bright light just above the horizon was centered in the Milky Way arch. The glow to the right, below the core of the galaxy is from the nearby town of Moab, Utah. The glow to the center-left is from the further away Grand Junction city in Colorado.
Should I describe how it felt being there? Nah.. I let you imagine that.

| Pano single row w/ 18mm |
| Sky: 7 positions x 4 stacked | ISO 6400 | f/2.8 | 10 sec |
| FG: 6 positions x 4 stacked | ISO 12800 | f/2.8 | 72 sec |

Yesterday was 2-22, hence the title for my today's Lighthouse at Sunset picture :)
This is also dedicated to those who froze their butts off this winter taking outdoor photos to share them with the Flickr friends. Mine was snapped at 50 mph wind gusts and 1F real feel temp. I should do this more often.
Eyes are drawn by the lights, the lighthouse and the sky, however I would point out the dark matter to the left, which looks like an angry sandy beach - it's actually a murky wave propagating upstream the Black River exit in South Haven, the white area is the slurpee served by lake Michigan, pina colada flavor indeed.

Let's stay warm this Wednesday, shall we?

plenty of balance in ~rubbernecking~ so it's about time for disruption.
just before the sunrise, the last enjoyment of the night, I did not think that the East side would work considering that the astronomical twilight was already happening and a 36 exposures pano takes time, framed for likely trimmed left side. processed it and.. yeah, I'll just go with the complete pano, no trimming *sic*

| Single row Pano w/ 18mm: 6x3 @ ISO 6400 | f/2.8 | 10 sec, each of the 6 positions stacked in Sequator than stitched in PTGui Pro, final edit in LR & PS where creativity happens |
| made 18 FG exposures @72 sec also but it looked like the noise in the star frames was manageable so I didn't use them |
| no light painting |

although in the heart of the summer, Perseids always signal to me the approach of autumn.
i could list a few things that made me frame it this way, there is no good excuse for the poor composition though 0:-). normally this would end up in my recycle bin, however, it survived, considering the astrological event.
taken one night before the peak of the meteor shower due to weather constraints, Jupiter to the left, clouds in motion from the total exposure time, the core of the Milky Way just above the horizon and I was able to select 8 meteorites, some quite faint and needed some help to pop.

I visited this place quite a few times in the past year while hiking the Hocking Hills. I posted two other pictures made during the winter when the ice was hiding the main feature, which is the faint corcscrew shape.

[ISO 375 | f/10 | 1.8 sec | 75 mm | 6-stop ND + CPL slightly applied | - the main-mid exposure, which was bracketed for dynamic range, 5 total exposures @ +/- 1 stop]
