Today I am introducing you to Australia's most famous colonial artist, John Glover (1767-1849). In this photograph, and the one previously, I want to give you a look at what is now often called "Glover Country". A region he made popular through his landscape art. Of course in truth it has always been Palawa country. The ancestral homelands of a small, but proud group of indigenous people. I told you something of their story in the photograph "Our Country".
But in this landscape we stand on the Deddington Road and are looking back towards the little hamlet of Blessington in the foothills of Ben Lomond (turapina).
