This was such a beautiful old house with wonderful stonework. The garden was full of lovely natural colour.

Back to back these contented Buddha figures seemed to offer a little reminder by way of Japanese Zen master Dogen:
"Enlightenment is like the moon reflected on the water.
The moon does not get wet, nor is the water broken.
Although its light is wide and great,
The moon is reflected even in a puddle an inch wide.
The whole moon and the entire sky
Are reflected in one dewdrop on the grass."

The entrance to MONA, which is through the original Roy Grounds building, is covered in a distorting mirror. It's a fun carnival type of place. That's the message and the truth. Here I decided on a self-portrait with the lit Amarna by James Turrell in the background.
