Porto Koufo – Plataria (Psakoudia)

Plataria- Parga 100 km
Last day in Greece.
Here, where tourism is one of the biggest industries and since there are so many tourist also the grandmothers speak English, I understand that the magic of Iran will stay with myself for long.
The delicate kindness received, the real curiosity and a pure and open interest for us that I have never found before, in any country or culture.
This helped to create an aura of mystery and tale in our travel, and cleared the fears I had before traveling with all the smiles received.
The invitations, all the tchai and sweets we have received, all the pictures shot together with all the Iranians made us feeling home and also heroins and heroes of a special trip.
The difficulty to travel abroad for Iranians and the small number of tourist that visit the country for all the fears induced by their leaders' speeches and by the western media, makes each tourist a privileged individual, someone that needs to be welcomed with all the cares deserved to important people. This is one of the many contradictions of this country.
As a girl candidly asks me, "...What is your job? Are you a tourist?", now I think that it could really be my job.
I'm always surprised by the strange relationship between the material possessions in contrast with happiness and joy. In this travel from Europe to Asia, a thought goes to the serenity of the people: why the less one owns and the more is happy?
And how many smiles we got as a gift, and how much food we received along our road by unknown people, but for sure poorer than us. It's always time for learning....
Our travel ends here, in front of the ship that will take us in San Marco square in Venice.
See you soon!!!
