From a trip I took with Michael to Sequim. We hiked all the way up and down the Dungeness Spit (11 miles total) and briefly toured the lighthouse at the end of the spit.
Interesting thing about the lighthouse - you can sign up to be a "keeper" for a week. It does cost money, but you get to spend a week at the lighthouse (they boat you over) with up to seven other people. You take turns giving tours to anyone who hikes out to the end of the spit, along with a few other light duties if needed - depending on the season. Mostly, you get to rest and walk the beach. Notably, all positions for 2025 have already by reserved - it's a very popular program.
