Friend Mike took several of us on a weekend walking tour of the trees of the campus. The landscaping takes from quite a show of unusual trees from around the world.

I wasn't sure if this tree had been stripped of its bark by people or if it just grew this way. But I liked how it stood out from the others due to its different color and by being lit the most.

A widely planted hybrid. I am attracted to it because the large flowers open before the tree leafs out in spring, making it quite a show.

With all the bad news we are hearing, I thought I'd add a bit of spring cheer.
