Mergus merganser,
Morro Bay State Park Marina,
Morro Bay, California

Common Mergansers are fairly uncommon on the bay, being much more frequent on fresh water than brackish. These two were part of a group of three which swam/hunted through the marina. Here they appeared startled by something I didn't see, but only flew a short ways and came down to water to continue their search of the marina.
