We walked and walked, looking for the Metro entrance--this is not it!
(We found it, just a few blocks farther on). Despite some inconvenience, Crystal City [near National Airport] is a handy and less expensive alternative to staying overnight in downtown Washington. There is (fairly!) easy connection by Metro to all the downtown museums and attractions.
