Eads Bridge, wonderfully restored with a pedestrian-friendly sidewalk. Memory of a fun trip to St. Louis.

St. Louis Public Library. The charming tile fireplace in the room now occupied by the Popular Library was produced before 1912 by the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works of Doylestown, Pennsylvania. This company was one of the leading Arts & Crafts tile producers at the time; they had won awards at the St. Louis World's Fair less than ten years earlier. Founded by the amazing Henry Mercer.

I was on foot in the middle of the 1874 Eads Bridge (a well maintained pedestrian way exists)--this is a great thing to do in St. Louis! If they charged, people would be lined up for the privilege! As it is, it's free, and I was alone.
