Documenting part of the collection of preserved food "put by" for the cold winter ahead in the mountains. Community is located 20 miles northeast of Asheville, NC, in the Blue Ridge Mountains (southern Appalachians).

Corner of Ox Creek Road and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
In planning their own "welcome" signs, the community of Barnardsville toured the vicinity to observe how other communities had dealt with the project. I love the white-washed tree trunk uprights, as well as the antique yoke that has been used to make this sign!
