Niels Peter, Lisbeth, and myself at a manor house garden in early May. Fond memory of a wonderful trip to visit my friends in Denmark in 2005.
Embarrassingly, I've forgotten which one this is! Denmark's manor houses are one of its great unsung treasures. There are hundreds of them, some open as hotels and restaurants, some serving as corporate headquarters or schools, and many still lived in by private persons--some of them descendants of the original owners three hundred years ago!

One of my photographs, "Carson Cabin in Big Ivy," has been hanging in a student exhibit "Architecture in Appalachia" at the Hunter Library, Western Carolina University, Culowhee, NC, since early fall. We finally saw the show before it closes this week! Thanks to Scott Chamness who found my Creative Commons photograph on Flickr, wrote to me asking to include it in the show, and then gave it such an interesting treatment and interpretation! Go, Scott! May your career in museums be successful!

Yours truly in a loose traveling dress!
We were on our way to Williamsburg, VA, cross-country by the scenic route. It was a great trip.
