52 Weeks Project
Happy New Year to everyone visiting my Flickr stream
One of my intensions for 2009 is to participate in the 52 Weeks Project. Inspiration for this came from my friend Stewart who participated in 2008 with succes (his 52 Week Project 2008). The idea is create a self portrait every week (Monday to Sunday) and to post it here on Flickr. This may take place at every location on the planet as long as I do it my self. Of course with the help of self timers and tripods. But the help of somebody else but me is strictly forbidden. Let's see how this works out the next 52 weeks / year.
This is only the beginning. 2009...make it a good one. :-)

52 Weeks Project
Last week it was very cold in this part of Europe. Temperatures of -10 Celcius were quite normal during the nights. In some parts of the Netherlands were covered under a layer of snow. For those who like to ice skate this was the perfect week. After 10 years it was possible to walk on iced lakes and canals.
And most Flickr uploads contained the most beautiful Winter photos last week. No matter what kind of camera or how many pixels. Frozen trees, skating people and beautiful blue winter skies.
This self portrait is made in Bad Bentheim (Germany) were I had a stop-over for one hour (!). Normally there is nothing special to do around this border station. But as this station happens to be located next to a forest the background of my 52-Weeks Project photo was an easy choice this week.

52 Weeks Project
This week I have chosen the driver seat for this project. Camera stand-by on a tripod on the passenger seat. Photo is taken on the way to my mother on the A9 highway somewhere near Ouderkerk a/d Amstel.
This week the weather was back to normal for Dutch Winter standards. Rain showers which last a whole day.

52 Weeks Project
At some of my overnights in Paris I don't have to return immediately to Amsterdam in the morning and I have some time for a walk through the city. In the morning of 31/01/2009 I have chosen the 11th arrondissement and Marais for my walk. With camera of course. At the little square of Léopold Achille I took the opportunity for my "52 Week Project" (check link above). It was a cold morning with blue skies. Perfect Winter weather conditions.
