Slagharen Themepark & Resort 24/09/2018 10h47
A visit to the 'attractiepark' in the Northeast of the Netherlands with the main reason to ride the new Gold Rush launch infinity roller coaster opened in 2018. And now we were there a few other attractions.
Slagharen
Attractiepark Slagharen is an amusement park situated in Slagharen, Netherlands. It also contains a bungalow park and a water park (Aqua Mexicana). It's one of the most visited parks in Europe. It was in the top 20 in 2010 and 2011.
In 1963, shopkeeper Henk Bemboom built a number of holiday cottages on a piece of land around an old farmhouse. As an added attraction, he offered a Shetland pony and a carriage to the occupants of each cottage. Over time, more and more attractions were built, so that the resort gradually developed into a fully-fledged theme park. In 1990 Bemboom gave the park to his children, who sold it to the Spanish group Parques Reunidos in 2012. Bemboom died on May 27, 2014.
The park is divided into two sections, connected by a Main Street which is lined with shops and restaurants. The park has more than 30 rides, including two roller coasters. There are six themes: Indian, Yellowstone, New Orleans, Mexican, Wild West and Jules Adventureland (named after the French writer Jules Verne).

Gold Rush 24/09/2017 10h56
The new attraction of Themepark and Resort Slagharen is Gold Rush in the morning mist of a September day in 2017, the year of opening of this launch roller coaster.
Gold Rush
Gold Rush is a rollercoaster in the Dutch amusement park Slagharen as a replacement for the older Schwarzkopf runway Thunder Loop. The attraction was built by the German roller coaster Gerstlauer and is of the Infinity Coaster model. The theme of the job is the Californian gold rush that started in 1848.
Attractiepark Slagharen wanted a replacement for Thunder Loop by 2018, because it cost too much money for maintenance. In the course of the 2016 season, the chain almost went. After that they decided to open the new roller coaster in 2017.
The track has a height of 33 meters and is 400 meters long. According to the designs, the track would actually be 31 meters high, with a top speed of 90 km / h. This has been adjusted afterwards to resp. 33 meters and 95 kilometers per hour because otherwise the track had too much power. Due to the triple launch with relapses, a car leaves about 620 meters per trip, which is slightly more than the Thunder Loop route. The maximum speed is 95 kilometers per hour, making Gold Rush the fastest rollercoaster in the Netherlands with inversions.
One train will be on the track with 5 rows of 4 people. More trains are not possible, at least not in a safe way, because on launch the train also drives the entire brake section backwards and there is therefore no place where any other train could stop.
The construction of this attraction was an investment of about 5 million euros.
