In the footsteps of Rembrandt or Van Eesteren...
Location: Rembrandtpark, Amsterdam West
Coordinates: 52°36'67" N 4°84'75" E
Reason: This is part of my plan of 2017 to take a selfie in every Amsterdam park. The plan is still in progress. Lot's of parks (small and big) already done but still around 9 to go.
Rembrandtpark: The Rembrandtpark in Amsterdam Nieuw-West is a city park located to the west of the border of the urban development before 1940 and forms essentially the border between Amsterdam Oud-West and Amsterdam Nieuw-West.
The park was already part of the General Expansion Plan (UAP) by Cornelis van Eesteren from 1929 (sketch) and 1935 (final). Van Eesteren situated the park between what would later become Westlandgracht and Jan Evertsenstraat. The Postjesweg already cut the park in half. The park would have a size of 50 hectares.
It was intended to give the residents of Oud West some degree of park green in the densely built-up areas. It had a sister in the Flevopark in Amsterdam-Oost. The park should form a green buffer zone between the closed buildings of the pre-war city and the open buildings structure of the Western Garden Cities. The further design was based on a Ringweg-West (Einsteinweg) that was at ground level. However, in 1966 it was decided that that part of the Rijksweg 10 would be placed on a dyke body; it ensured that the Rembrandtpark felt more and more to Oud-West (De Baarsjes) than to New-West.

Amsteldijk instead of Martin Luther King Park...
Location: Amsteldijk, Amsterdam Zuid (South), in the distance Martin Luther King Park (right)
Coordinates: 52°34'12" N 4°91'35" E
Reason: My intention was a self portrait next to the little statue of Martin Luther King. But three women were busy with a yoga session and the sunlight was gone. Shadow of the trees. So I decided to postpone this for another occasion. This location along the Amstel good enough. I have some memories at this spot as well.
Amsteldijk: The Amsteldijk is a dike in Amsterdam and is located on the western (left) bank of the Amstel. The street on the section between the Muntplein and the Singelgracht is simply called 'Amstel'. South of the Singelgracht it is called 'Amsteldijk'. There is no direct connection between the Amstel (as a street) and Amsteldijk. The Amsteldijk is entirely located in the Amsterdam South district, of which the Amstel is the eastern boundary. The Amsteldijk runs from north to south along De Pijp and the Rivierenbuurt. The most important crossings are those with the Ceintuurbaan and Vrijheidslaan. Further south, the A2 (or Nieuwe Utrechtseweg) and A10 motorways cross the Amsteldijk.
The Amsteldijk is located outside the former city walls of Amsterdam and until 1896 even only the part north of the current Ceintuurbaan was within the municipal boundaries (the rest was in the municipality of Nieuwer-Amstel, now Amstelveen). Previously, the Amsteldijk was called "Utrechtsezijde", which name was used until around the beginning of the twentieth century, even after "Amsteldijk" was established as the official name.

Street art climbing after my first visit to the Straat Museum Amsterdam...
Location: NDSM Plein, Amsterdam Noord
Coordinates: 52°40'04" N 4°89'57" E
Reason: The former NDSM Werf remains a special place to visit. And today I visited for the first time to the Straat Museum Amsterdam, also known as Street Art Today on Google Maps. I had a special reason because Streetart Frankey had placed an object there: Donkey Kong (Streetart Frankey, October 2020)
NDSM-Plein/Werf: Nederlandsche Dok en Scheepsbouw Maatschappij (Amsterdam Noord)
Straat (Museum Amsterdam): STRAAT is a street that goes cross borders, from Amsterdam to New York, from São Paulo to Tokyo. But it’s also a street that goes across boundaries: it reunites under the same roof the variety of styles, shapes, techniques and narratives of the largest art movement of our times. Our collection is made of artworks as big as buildings, which were created here. In a former shipyard that is, by itself, a national monument.
Weather: Partly cloud, 16° C (also maximum of this day)
To Listen ♫:
Self-portrait technics: Joby portable gorillapod placed on the front basket of my bicycle, timer set at 10 seconds.

My idea one week ago was a selfie with the new book of Paul Haenen but the end result was overshadowed by a selfie in a beautiful lanscape... this week the second attempt...
Location: Depot/siding Amsterdam Watergraafsmeer, Amsterdam.
Coordinates: 52°35'39" N 4°94'78" E
Reason: Promoting the new book of Paul Haenen "Ik Heb Bekend" ("I confessed") onboard of Thalys the most popular way of transportation of Paul Haenen. Intended as a tribute to Paul who has been so forthright in publishing his childhood diaries. Diaries where I recognize myself very much.
Ik Heb Bekend: The new book Ik Heb Bekend by Paul Haenen is a publication of the diaries he wrote from 1958 to 1965. Paul Haenen (1946) tells about his private life, ambitions and loneliness in his equally disarmed and astute diary notes - with grief in the face of adversity but usually with a lot of humor.
Publisher: Podium Amsterdam, ISBN 97890 5759 8289
Thalys: Wikipedia - Thalys
Paul Haenen: Paul Haenen (Amsterdam, April 30, 1946) is a Dutch actor, comedian, voice actor, playwright, program maker, presenter and journalist who gained fame with his theater shows and television shows. Paul Haenen presents himself under his alter egos Margreet Dolman and Dominee Gremdaat. He also interprets Bert's voice in the Dutch version of the children's television series Sesame Street.
On My Way: At this photo I was on my way to Paris. At that time I was not aware of the fact that this was my last time to Paris for undetermined time. The outbreak of the corona pandemic (COVID-19) resulted in a total lockdown in France and Belgium since 17/03/2020.
Photoshop: Yes, "motion blur", the train was not in motion here.
To Listen: Die Young - Sheppard (Youtube)
Weather: Cloudy, 11° C
Self-portrait technics: Joby portable gorillapod placed on a passenger seat in coach 13 of train set 4321 (PBKA).
