Crête de Peyrolle et col de Barteaux, vus du sommet du Grand Meyret

This is a marvellous place located between Col de Granon and Briançon. The walk along the crest path is very scenic, with several 360° panoramas and great views on some of the Alps' main summits. I went here early in the morning to capture the oblique sunrise light on the crest.

A cairn is a man-made stack of stones. Cairns are often erected as landmarks, a use they have had since ancient times. This one is located on the top of the Grand Meyret, between the Col du Granon and Briançon (France).
