Lopini Paea is seen here during his debut driving the ball in for Wakefield against Leeds during the recent pre season friendly game on Boxing Day.
Lopini is Australian by birth but has represented Tonga in the international game. His previous league clubs were Sydney Roosters in the NRL and Catalan Dragons in the Super League.

I have had a framed copy of this photo hanging up at home for a good trwenty years.
It was taken in the 1890's and depicts my great grandparents outside their public house, The Oakfield Hotel in the Llantarnam district of Cwmbran, South Wales. My great granfathers name J Bryant (Jack) has been rather roughly added above the door confirming his licence to sell alcohol.
The story goes that Jack Bryant used to work down the mines and somehow through gamling won the pub. I'm not too sure of how accurate this story is. Needeless to say a few years later after my grandmother was born he lost the pub again (we can only guess) and then moved north to Yorkshire to find work back in the mines.
The last time we researched, the former pub was still standing and was a chinese takeaway and two other businesses.

I am annoyed with myself for not including the full height of these bears. It was very much a grab shot. We were done for our visit of the West Yellowstone Grizzly centre when I heard an unnatural racket, before turning to see these two squaring up against one and other.
Just for a brief moment or two they looked like they were going to rip one and other apart. It was quite a scene.

I have just returned from spending three days in the snow and ice of the scottish mountains. What a time we chose for our first "Spring" expedition. As can be seen winter returned with a vengance.
Mark is seen here sheltering from the howling gale by the summit of Ben More (the Crianlarich one). To give an idea of the weather up on the hill, that great mass that Mark is leant against is a trig point which without snow and ice measures no more than a foot across at its base. Our climb that day had included a prior ascent up the ice encrusted slopes of the neighbouring hill Stob Binnean.
