This was taken from atop Spruce Knob Plateau of the Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia while I was out the other evening shooting with my 10 year old son and
Bill, who was visiting from California. Bill had never been to Spruce Knob and wanted to see it. I am glad I brought extra jackets for us as the temps were in the 50's and the wind was a steady 20+ mph. The lesson here... sometimes you just have to suffer for your art. ;-)~ LOL!!!
**Artist note: I originally incorporated those 3 trees in the foreground just to "ground the scene", but once I began working on this image I had a thought go through my mind that those trees have a front row seat every night for the sunset. I know, I'm goofy. ;-)~
