I borrowed the title 'Love Thing' from Joe Satriani's 1992 song. This is one of his most beautiful songs he ever recorded, and I think it fits this image. ;-)

This was taken along the Skyline Drive in Virginia's Shenandoah National Park on a cold but beautiful clear early morning.

**To all of my friends and contacts in the path of "Frankenstorm", which is hurricane Sandy, I hope you stay safe! Take care!

I remember hearing my parents talk about their joints aching as they got older, I never believed them however because I was young and never thought that I would ever be complaining about the same thing because I exercised regularly, drank very little, and never smoked or did any illegal drugs. But here I am approaching 1/3 into my 50's and on these cold mornings it hurts like hell to even walk down the stairs, especially when weather is moving in.
I suppose I need to get back into a regular exercise routine, maybe even start doing some sort of yoga or stretching thing too.
Sorry for sounding like a broken record, I suppose that is the cabin fever kicking in as I wait as patiently as possible for the warmer mornings that are so inviting to get outside and move and shoot.

We drove ALL the way down to Black Rock Summit on our little excursion of Shenandoah National Park. Poor Bill McIntosh & George Fletcher were so worn out after our White Oak Canyon hike that they fell asleep for a bit while I was driving. I suppose that getting up at 3am didn't help either. I am used to that hour, since it is my normal time to wake to get up for work *smile*.

As we got closer to this stop the clouds that gave us WONDERFUL cover to help with our shooting at White Oak Canyon started to break up down here. So it made for a wonderful backdrop for a view up the park.

Thanks for looking!
