Nothing special here as I have not made the time to get out shoot much, but I wanted to stop by to say "Hi" to everyone.

I have a question for anyone who has taken the time to read this comment..."If I asked you which lens this shot was taken with, a Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 or a.. Nikon 24-120 f/4, which would you think?". "EXACTLY"! You couldn't really tell which one, but I will tell you it was shot with the F4 lens, which by all 'expert reviewers' is an inferior lens. But it is with these results that I get from this lens that makes it my guilty pleasure, because on most average shooting situations I'd rather have this lens on the front of my camera than the 24-70. I will tell you that I love this lens so much that after I sold my first copy a few years ago (I talked myself into believing those so called experts) I bought another copy just last year because I was missing it so badly.

I suppose I need to stop worrying SO about how sharp or unsharp a lens is and just focus in on "will it allow me to capture more shots when I am out and about".

**Now for my own expert advice about this lens as compared to the heralded Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 G lens.
First the bad;
The 24-120 f/4G ED VR lens does have it's limitations IF you are shooting indoors with any movement or action that you want to freeze. I say this tongue in cheek to a small degree because I did at one time shoot on the "Dark Rides" at WDW with this lens.
If you are trying to isolate a subject it doesn't have the smoothest rendering (bokeh) in some situations as you have to be really careful to the subject vs background distance to get the best results.
This lens is noticeably softer in the corners vs the 24-70.

Now the good;
It has VR!! Yes, I know the newer 24-70 has VR, but it is also a 82mm filter size as compared to the traditional 77mm size.
IMO the center is AS SHARP as the 24-70!
It has more reach 120mm vs 70mm..."almost double" (I say in my best 'as seen on TV' voice~ LOL!), in reality it is about .75% more reach.
Lastly... it is just more fun to have on the front of the camera!!

There are certain times of the year that I find myself ALWAYS photographing places that I love, and at this time of the year I always find myself at the Virginia Farm Market. When my son was young I would bring him here and we always had such fun, so now that he is a teen (need I say more??~LOL!) I suppose I come here to photograph the pumpkins to remind me of those days gone by.

Something a bit different from me as I am stretching my photographic wings to keep creative JuJu flowing. *wink*

This is the Amherst Diner located in Winchester Virginia. I absolutely LOVE the retro vibe that this place has as I am glad they left the original sign up. Oh, and the diner food in this place is SOOOO GOOOD!!

I'm a few days early in this post, but I will be away from my computer over the weekend which is the reason for my early Halloween post. ;-)
