A Fox River Valley freight cross the long bridge over Little Lake Butte Des Morts at Menasha, Wisconsin, on May 13, 1990. A colorful locomotive set from the Chicago & North Western spin-off short line provides the motive power—former CB&Q/Burlington Northern EMD SD24 No. 2402, former LS&I “alligator” Alco RSD-15 No. 2407 and former Southern Railway EMD SD35 No. 2500. Unfortunately, unless you want to walk or cycle across this bridge, this part of the C&NW line to Green Bay is abandoned onto the bridge and north, now called the “Friendship Trail.”
