Amtrak’s “Heritage III” No. 145 is on the point of the eastbound California Zephyr on the afternoon of June 22, 2011. Having just passed through Tunnel 1, the train is about to cross Highway 72 and Coal Creek Canyon, and head to Clay and Rocky on the decent off the Front Range.
