A northbound Kansas City Southern freight crosses the Colorado River (not the same river in Colorado) at Wharton, Texas, on the afternoon of March 14, 2013. This bridge is located on KCS’s new Rosenberg Subdivision connecting Rosenberg and Victoria, this section of railroad rose from the ashes to form part of the route to Mexico, rebuilt from a portion of an abandoned, former Southern Pacific branch known as the “Macaroni Line.”

The train is leaving Union Pacific’s Cuero Subdivision for the Angleton Subdivision to Bloomington.
