VIA’s Canadian cruises through Yellowhead Pass, British Columbia, on July 20, 2011. Lead F40PH No. 6457 has recently been rebuilt and is decked out in VIA’s new locomotive paint scheme. Soon, the train will make the lengthy station stop at Jasper, letting people enjoy some fresh air amid the beautiful Canadian Rockies.

. . . Sure enough, as No. 2671 on stack train No. 116 slowly rumbles past at English, Alberta, train No. 1, the westbound Canadian silently appears around the distant curve. Oh well, we’ll have to get a shot of the Canadian here some other time . . .
