When utility provides the inspiration. I was in the backyard cutting the bottoms off empty Dr. Pepper cans to use for critter baits and suddenly looked down at the pile of chopped up cans and and visualized this shot. A few minutes later with the help of some diet Dr Pepper, a ring flash, and my wife posing behind the can, I captured it. The lens is the lovely Vivitar Series 1 28/1.9. Single take, single exposure.

The sun was so bright at the beach, I could not review any of my captures on the LCD screen and thus didn't notice all the specks of salt spray and flares all over my shots. This one was marked for deletion but I found a way to reduce the flaring without destroying much of the image. I love the fan of receding water in the foreground and really want to visit this spot again.

A long country dive through southern Solano county (CA) brought me to this spot which always reminds me of the scenery from the B&W segment of Wizard Of Oz. I expect to see Dorothy falling into the pig pen nearby.

Pre-dawn festivities from my hotel while working a conference in the city. The venerable Ferry Building and early morning traffic on the Embarcadero, while the Bay Bridge sleeps soundly in the background.
