Sunrise at a windfarm in the Montezuma Hills, Solano county, CA. Rob and I met out here to scout around for some new comps. In the dark, we decided on a spot and were pleasantly surprised later to find a beautiful view in every direction. Here, some post sunrise light gives a row of turbines some glow.
Once in awhile we behold a scene that just makes us gasp in awe, and though I know i didn't adequately capture this scene in all its glory, this brief moment in time will stay with me for a long time to come.
This is a 5-frame, single exposure pano, shot with the A80-160 on the 645D. I hope you like it!

Just before sunset at a windfarm near Rio Vista, CA.
I went out with Matt Granz last evening hoping to catch the moonrise in SF, but the conditions suggested otherwise. I am glad we came out here. Rolling hills of green grass everywhere.
This is a 3-exposure bracketed HDR, tonemapped with Photomatix.

From this morning, deep in the Montezuma Hills. I got out here early to do some pre-dawn scouting for new compositions, and by "compositions", I mean...unlocked gates. The sun could not arrive soon enough, as the earlier heavy cloud mass was dissipating rapidly. To the east, this single bank of low clouds was hanging over the river, so I turned my attention that way and waited.
This is a single frame, single exposure, shot with the A*600mm f/5.6 on the 645Z. Wind is never the friend of a long telephoto lens, so I parked my truck strategically in such a way to lock the rear door open in an L-shaped barrier to block some of the more significant gusts. It seems to have worked well enough.

A row of wind turbines greet the dawn. I returned to the Montezuma Hills windfarm on this cold morning to continue to scout some interesting arrangements of turbines.
The wind here, as you may expect, is substantial, with gusts over 20mph.
This is a single frame, single exposure, shot with the FA150mm f/2.8 lens on the 645Z.

Last Evening's golden hour from the hills above Byron, CA airport. This is a view to the north of the rolling hills and Montezuma Hills wind corridor. That is Little Blue Peak in Yolo county on the horizon.
This is a single exposure, multi-frame pano. Lens is the 67 M*300/4 adapted to the 645D. Quite a bit of motion blur in the full size due to the high winds at this location.
