I am increasingly trying to express a certain kind of radical honesty, at least when I find myself in a situation where I feel burdened in a way that I have to refuse to expose myself to it any further in order to protect myself. And to be honest and truthful with myself. Sometimes it has been a long road to get here, but the last few years have been a tough school for me.
In case of doubt, this leads to me having to separate myself from people.
And so yesterday I had to part ways with someone who is becoming increasingly politically radicalised.
A person I have been in contact with for many years, independent of Flickr, a completely normal life contact, a not so very close friend but a friendly person to me. How does that make me feel? Ambivalent. This person has never done me any harm personally, but in view of the developments in Germany, I can't tolerate people in my environment who are increasingly adopting a radical political position. It's very close to my heart to witness these latest developments.
It worries me a lot.
