As the sign says, "Just another day in paradise".
Beautifully appointed cabin at 9500 ft. elevation in the Elk Mountains of Colorado, and truly off the grid...no internet, phone,TV...solar/generator power...truly paradise to this cat.

On the last day of the trip, I headed up to see the Maroon Bells, two spectacular 14,000 ft. side by side mountains. From the valley you could see there was significant snow up on the peaks. The drive up Maroon Creek road seemed to take one through Summer, Fall and Winter, all in about eight miles.
I chose a Monday morning thinking there would not be many people. Wrong! There was a massive traffic jam at the National Parks service lot, there had to be at least 500 people up there. With that and near white-out conditions I chose to take a rain check. This was the only real disappointment on a wonderful trip.
This was the only somewhat decent image I could garner under the conditions.

...Not really, it just feels that way at the top of Marshall Pass, elevation 10,842 ft. on the Continental Divide. What a wonderful day, crossed the divide three times driving old railroad grades through some amazing aspen groves.
After three days 'off the grid", I arrived in Aspen this afternoon, the first opportunity to "connect"...will post much more from this amazing trip.
