I normally ignore the dragonflies when focusing on bird photography but the sheer amount of these in my area... not easy to ignore. I had to say they are addictive and challenging.
Also, not been using my new Canon EF100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II a lot as 90% of time I am reach dependent but I intentionally left the 500mm at home while shooting these insects. I was aware of the lens amazing MFD and performance with the 1.4x III tele (almost 1 : 2 magnification). This was shot almost at minimum focusing distance hence the razor thin focus plane and some of the wings out of focus.
