For a color fiesta in southern California stop of the Interstate 5 freeway at Carlsbad near Legoland and wander the commercial flower fields that bloom from February to June. Have some strawberry shortcake with whipcream when you are done or go buy your own boquet of flowers to bring home. As you wander up and down the fields you will also look out on the blue Pacific Ocean. Its a fabulous side trip to make on a visit to San Diego or Orange County. a true travel joy.
