Cover your head if your going to feed the gulls. And keep your picnic lunch protected too. They are mostly harmless and wonderful to see in a group as they swoop, flap and hoover over the beach. i stumbled by with my camera while a curious local beach woman made her daily rounds feeding her friends

Great clouds on a high pressure day where you felted you could follow this path to heaven and kiss the sun. This is in Rose Canyon in San Diego, a small earthquake fault plain that runs right past my home and make some great hills in geologic time. BEST SEEN LARGE!

A sunset on a winter day is as good as it gets. This is Crystal Pier in the background around 5:14 pm in January. You can take your dogs here but only after beach hours and then you must use a leash. There is an off leash beach "Dog Beach" a few miles south. I love letting people walk in front of the camera as the sun sinks and weather they are sufing, building a sandcastles, hugging a friend or walking the dog , they all make great photos if the light is just right.

One of the best though there are many to choose from. This is the north end of the beach and the trail on this end is really steep and dangerous. Great views though. This was a great day unlike the current weather which is nicknamed May Gray. Its famous as a nude beach but many come clothed to walk and in wet suits to surf. Classic geologic cliff erosion makes it always changing and unstable after storms. Its an nature paradise that most tourists miss. I recommend going to this spot from Torrey Pines State Beach about two miles north and taking a beach or cliff hike there. Click this link for more lovely images of the coast youtu.be/NqlvPk5Ze0Q
