A great fire reflection during the 8 times a year Waterfire celebrations in downtown Providence, Rhode Island. When the sun goes down the people come out to walk a mile long stretch of river filled with giant cemet vases piles high with wood.

It was raining at the beach that day but the sun slipped in and out while i walked on the shore. What's a little more water to surfers, they are all wet anyway and the sets were big that day. Alpine Lake at over 8,000 feet is a true jewel of the Sierra Nevada mountains. High on route 4 on the way to Ebbits Pass its a place few go but those who do are rewarded with supreme vistas. The pink pastel hues where, it seemed to me, made to order for painters and poets. . A fine place to kayak, fish, and hike.

One of those o la la days after a few colder weeks, when high pressure comes I know its worth hanging around to watch the sky dance and just savor each little second. This is Mission Bay a water park used by walkers, joggers, bicyclists, kids, kayakers, windsurfers and jet skiers. A great place for locals just off Interstate 5 as you drive north from the airport and downtown or south from La Jolla. A jewel of a park and as you can see great for sunsets.
