I've decided not to buy a Canon 600mm with 2x extender (way to expensive), but to buy a Powershot SX60 HS with having (corresponding to a full frame DSLR) a zoom up to 1200mm with not so unfortunate results I must say...
It is obvious that this is by far NOT the quality big lensen of Canon will offer you, but for this sort of work, Putting things only on Flickr, (I don't have expo's and don't have to make large posters) it'll do the job :-)
