Seeing myself again in the mirror after a too-long hiatus has made me realize that I deserve more ME time.
I wish I could relate some wonderful news about my wife’s continued acceptance of Amanda’s presence, but I can’t. I wish I had a great story to relate about a recent outing, but I don’t. I wish I could say I had recently enjoyed the company of some of my BFFs, but I haven’t. In fact, I haven’t had much of a chance to indulge being ME for many months…
And it’s getting tougher to endure.
But I was granted a few hours recently, and was reminded about how much I need this… yes, it sounds almost absurd to say it out loud: about how much I need to be ME. And to see the WHOLE me in the mirror. I wish I had the courage to push the Amanda Agenda (as it’s come to be known) at home and beyond... and kudos to those of you who’ve managed it.
Perhaps we all forget the importance of really seeing ourselves from time to time, as life overwhelms us with other duties? So, here’s to another looming New Year, and the formulations for a 2019 Resolution… stay tuned?
