First of all, I need to apologize for being absent from Flickr for so long...again. I naively thought that I would have nothing but time after I retired, but I am now finding myself scrambling to catch up from my back to back trips this Fall. I did manage to find time to re-launch my YouTube channel and the first episode of my epic Fall color road trip from California to Alaska and back down to the San Juans just went live today. If you have the time, please feel free to check out the video and say hi on YouTube at the link below. :)

Following the massive road trip, I hopped on a plane to Munich and spent another two weeks shooting around the alps. I was just starting to dig out of my photo editing when my buddy Eric Stein suggested that we head down to Texas and Louisianna to shoot some Cypress trees. It turned out that we were too late to catch the orange needles on the trees this year as they changed much earlier due to a cold snap. But on the bright side, the temperature plummeted into the TWENTIES while we were down there, and as we loaded the canoe into the swamp last November, thick clouds of mist blanketed the shore. We could only see a few feet in front of us as we set off at 6:30 each morning.

Eventually the sun rose just high enough to break through the mist and we shot like crazy for a couple of hours before we set off for Ihop to warm up. We both agreed we would try again next year but we will most likely head down there a couple of weeks earlier, just to be safe.
