User / myoldpostcards / Thayer IL - Village Hall
Randy von Liski / 15,894 items
A view of the Village Hall in Thayer, Illinois. The police department is headquartered here, and the building is still used for village meetings. The fire department was once located in this building, but moved across the street into an uninteresting new home when the village's new fire truck would not fit through the bay door. This also is a popular place to stop and pick up a Coca-Cola. Three Coke machines stand along the front of the building.

Thayer is a village in Sangamon County, and located about 18 miles south of Springfield on Illinois Route 4. The population of Thayer was 750 at the 2000 census.
