On the southwest corner of the square in Pawnee is the Loch Ridge Bros. Bank Building. Constructed in 1891 for the Loch Ridge Brothers, the bank operated on this corner from 1892 until it failed in 1896. In the 113 years since the failure, the building has been in commercial and residential use.

Pawnee is a village in Sangamon County. The village is located about 15 miles SSE of Springfield. The population was 2,647 at the 2000 census.

The upper half of the Loch Ridge Bros. Bank building, constructed in 1891, and the site of the Loch Ridge Bros. Bank from 1892 to 1896, It would be nice to see this structure restored someday, but that probably isn't in the cards. This old bank building is now in residential use.
