Meet Matt Haynes, a traditional barber who has been clipping hair in Springfield for 44 years. A graduate of the old Springfield Barber College, Matt will have had his own shop at 210 W. Laurel for 24 years come the first of April (2009).

"Yes," says a smiling Rick. "The guy in the painting is me!" The artwork dates back to 1978, when Rick was in his late 30s, and just before this traditional barber changed his own hair style to something, let's say, a little more traditional.
