We walked around the pretty little community near the ferry terminal at Halfmoon Bay, north of Vancouver (map with previous photo) and we were just about to get an ice cream when the call came to return to our cars...
These photos were really dark in the foreground and overexposed in the sky, but the new Lightroom 3 seems able to handle lots of adjustments. I even made some presets after I fixed a few photos so I can have some short-cuts in the future. Yes, folks, i am slowly learning new tricks...thanks to time off this summer..but back to school again and time will be precious...

Finally a few more B.C. shots, OK Denise???
The ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale, B.C. was a gorgeous 45 minute trip, offering amazing views of many islands, lots of boaters, and lovely homes connected only by boat to the mainland. It was raining lightly when we left Horseshoe Bay, but the sky brightened gradually as we went, making for some dramatic clouds. This is a blend of 3 handheld shots with a few extra tweaks in Lightroom 3.
OK Dave? Since you said I reached my hummingbird quota?

Tall trees and wonderful waves...but the water was about 10C and that girl went in and got wet. I was impressed cause my ankles froze right away! This was west of Victoria, Vancouver Island, on our drive to Port Roberts.
