Wow..sorry I have not been online..I am having too much fun with my sister..hiking..visiting..seeing the wonderful sights and nature in this gorgeous area...This was from the other day on the trail to Helen Hunt Falls..It is amazing that tree is still standing!

I forget which road we were on when this was taken last summer, but it is in the area near where the fires are burning in Colorado Springs. This is not smoke, but the afternoon thunderclouds rolling in.
On the news i heard that the winds had died down, but several hundred homes had been burned to the ground and many people were taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation.

On Wednesday afternoon Paul took me to visit red Rock Canyon Open Space. We walked along the trails for about 3/4 hour watching the clouds moving in over the mountains knowing there would be rain and thunder and lightening to follow. We left just in time! It sure was pretty!

This area was purchased by the City of Colorado Springs in 2003 and designated as a public space to be enjoyed by all. There are walking and hiking trails and many places for the serious rock climber to practice their skills. "Rock Scrambling" is not allowed.

You know how I love to shoot from the car......LOL...well, I couldn't resist as my sister drove me from the airport in Denver to her home in Colorado Springs. The typical late afternoon thunder and lightning storms were moving in and the sky was full of drama.
