A close-up view of the tiny, articulating fold mirrors that would be built into the replacement for the Hubble Space Telescope's Wide Field and Planetary Camera. The replacement instrument, Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 (WFPC2), was installed during the first servicing mission to Hubble in December 1993. WFPC2, along with the Corrective Optics Space Telescope Axial Replacement (COSTAR), focused the blurry vision that had plagued the telescope since launch. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, created the replacement system.
