Dr. David Leckrone holds a framed Hubble image in his office at the Goddard Space Flight Center. Leckrone had been a part of the Hubble Space Telescope Project since 1976, and later served as the Senior Project Scientist for the telescope until his retirement following Servicing Mission 4. Dave championed many causes for the mission including the need for a Wide Field Camera 3 to extend Hubble's ability to image the universe.
