The James Webb Space Telescope's backplane is in this transport, known as STTARS - the Space Telescope Transporter for Air Road and Sea. The backplane is the "spine" of the telescope and it supports mirror segments. This test item was sent from Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, CA to NASA Goddard in Greenbelt, MD. It first flew on a C-5 aircraft and then was driven by truck to Goddard.
