A friend and I drove down to Devon for the day on the 2nd May 1994. We left Holmfirth at 04:00 and got back at 6am the day after! One of the reasons for the trip is pictured here - a Class 37 triple-header. The locos came down to Devon at the head of the "Torbay Excursioner" charter from York but are pictured above on "The Big E" - 1Z37 17:32 Exeter St Davids to Paddington, which they took over from the pair of Class 20s which had brought the train down from Paddington. 37799 'Sir Dyfed/County of Dyfed', 37796 & 37896 are seen above as they growl past Cockwood Harbour, where as usual the tide was out!
