If you get the chance, South America is well worth the investment.
I just wish I had a better camera back then (2009). The little Nikon P50 was light and durable, but a DSLR would have done better justice to this view.

Life on the street for older people is a relentless struggle, marked by daily hardships, exposure to the elements, and limited access to basic necessities, leaving them vulnerable and often marginalised in society's shadows. Their advanced age compounds the challenges, making it even more challenging to cope with the physical and emotional toll of homelessness.

it would annoy me no end to have to explore places at someone else's pace.
Exploration should be serendipitous.

Trouble in Taunton.
What ever it was, I missed it.
I wonder what needed 6 Police officers a van and 2 cars?

The standard British stereotype is that it rains all the time in the UK.
Well we get a fair share, but its not every day and it doesn't rain all day (not very often anyway).
Annual rainfall totals are:
Cornwall and Devon have 900–1,000 mm, but up to double this amount falls on uplands such as Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor and Exmoor. Areas to the lee of high ground have lower totals e.g. 800 mm near Exeter and even 700 mm in the low-lying parts of central Somerset.
It rains on average 1 day in every 7 here in Taunton.
April - July are the driest and December - February the wettest.
