What I liked most during my stay in Shanghai was flying by night over the city. I will miss these moments quite deeply (China, Shanghai, Sept.20)

I've tried to make a photo of this streetlight alone, but I could not find a good compo without this strange church. And I have not dared to erase it on PS. (Russia, Moscow, July 2006)

The Province of Guizhou, in southwestern China, is for me the most interesting province to visit in China. Even if mass tourism start to affect some of the many traditional villages (like the one in the photo), it remains easily possible to visit authentic minority villages, where, sometimes , you even meet people that cannot speak Mandarin, but only their ancestral dialect. It is a real enchantement to go from the Dong villages to the mountain villages of Miao people. If you are about going to China, I really recommend you to get there for your first visit, if you are interested in discovering a quite authentic China places and incredible people (China, Guizhou, Zhaoxing, Dec.20)

After 4 months stuck in France, I could finally return to Shanghai early June, and I have been alone at the begining as my wife could not join me for some visa issues. Now, we are together again, but stuck again, this time in China... what a year! However, being stuck in such a large country lets us a massive playground to explore, starting with the city where we live: Shanghai. I think I could spend my life exploring this fascinating town, that provides limitless possibilities for photography. I will then start a serie of cityscapes, which is normally not my favorite style of photo, but I enjoy so much taking photos in this city that I wanted to share some of them. Hope you will like them.
This one has been made during a beautiful sunset over the Hangpu River, with my spare drone (Mavic Air 2, 12 panorama exposures, each one bracketed ie 36 frames merged). On this evening, the sky was full of drones, as I never saw before in my photographer's life. Even if this view is classical, I cannot get bored about it. What a splendid city, again.

2 years ago exactly, I was leaving Shanghai after having lived there for 3,5 years. I have to say I had a good sense of timing considering all what happened with the 0-covid policy over these 2 years in terms of restrictions and constraints. Now, it seems that life is about getting back to "normal" and I hope to have the chance to return there soon.
