Wandering around Wellington Harbour, came upon this classic Airstream Trailer - now used as a coffee kiosk, Wellington Harbour, New Zealand.

Could not resist the reflections.

A7Rii, Zeiss Batis 18/2.8 - 1/1500 sec at f/11, ISO 80.

Third image featuring this structure. Not really sure of what this observation platform is actually called. It leads out over the greywacke shingle into Hawkes Bay (South Pacific Ocean) at Napier, North Island, New Zealand.

This shot is from the end of the platform pointing away from the sunrise itself toward the town and the "Dome". Now a hotel, the Dome or T&G Building was completed in 1935 as part of Napier’s reconstruction following the devastating 1931 earthquake which destroyed most of Napier City.

Amazing lenticular cloud is probably due to the westerly airstream being forced upward from the mountainous heart of the North Island.

Sony A7Rii, Zeiss Batis 18mm f/2.8 1/8th sec, f/11, ISO 64.

This is a picture of the Milky Way rising over Nubeena, Tasmania.
Galactic centre is somewhere in that mass of orange close to/just below the horizon.

Can you see a giant emu (large Australian flightless bird like an ostrich)?

Many Australian Aboriginal groups have stories of a great emu whose head is formed from the Coalsack Nebula and whose neck, body, and legs are shaped from the other nebulae and dust lanes stretching down through the Milky Way. The trick is that the 'constellation' is defined by the dark patches not the stars. It’s easy to make out the emu and once you’ve seen it, the Milky Way will never look the same again.

As the year advances and more of the emu is exposed in the winter sky, the stories change to represent the courting, mating and nesting habits of the Australian emu.

Shot from Goat's Beach, South Arm while waiting for the sky to the south to clear and expose the Aurora Australis triggered by a CME 23/04/2017. The orange red glow at right is actually the aurora hidden by cloud.

The very bright light lower right is the beacon on Black Jack Rocks inside Betsy Island (just out of frame).

Shot 20:37 hrs, 23/04/2017.

A7Rii, Zeiss Batis 18/2.8. 20 secs at f/2.8, ISO 2000

*Note to self: Check that you're not shooting bloody jpgs!

Looking north-eastward from Te Mata Peak (399m) near Havelock North, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.

The view from the top is stunning. In the foreground, flanked by the Tuki Tuki river and surrounded by the golden colours of late summer is the Craggy Range Vineyard on Waimarama Rd. In the distance, Hawkes Bay itself with Napier and Hastings out of shot upper-left.

A7Rii, Zeiss Batis 18/2.8. 1/3200th sec, f/10, ISO 320.

Castle Rock (right 169m) and Deliverance Cove at Castle Point on the Wairarapa Coast, North Island, New Zealand.

The day we were there, the sky was a deep, flawless blue that has rendered better as mono.

The Wairarapa coast is located on the south-eastern edge of the North Island. Castle Point, the village, is quite a popular tourist/camping and lobster town. Very interesting from a geological sense as well as the South Pacific has done some serious DIY on this part of the coast.

Sony A7Rii, Zeiss Batis 18/2.8. 20 secs at f/9.5, ISO 500. 16 Stop Firecrest ND Filter. Cropped image.
